Here’s a comparison between my first comic (drawn in 2009) and my most recent one.
Now, I’m not pro-level or anything. But still - I put off getting this comic going for quite some time because I was afraid I wasn’t “good enough”, and even when I did start putting them out, it took me about a year to get serious about setting deadlines, drawing regularly, and keeping on track. But because I did, I now have 121 comics (plus some extra filler updates) finished and available online, and I’ve improved enough that I feel pretty damn foolish for putting things off as long as I did.
I think this is pretty solid evidence that if you want to get better at something, you have to DO IT. Even if you feel you’re not good enough. You’ll get better. And odds are it’ll be an awesome experience.
